Maryland Fire Protection Contractor License
The Maryland State Fire Marshal licenses contractors who install, maintain, and repair fire protection systems including sprinklers, fire alarms, and suppression systems.
Requirements
- Certification: NICET certification required
- Examination: Must pass the state fire protection exam
- Experience: Documented fire protection system experience
- Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation insurance
- Application Fee: $300

- No CE Required: Maryland does not mandate state CE hours for fire protection contractors (NICET certification maintenance is separate)
- Late Penalty: $300 per COMAR 29.06.05.04
