Terms of Service
The core terms that govern access to the YourStanding contractor-compliance software service and paid plans.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using YourStanding, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that business or organization to these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we may update the date on this page and require renewed acceptance before continued use of the Service.
The Service
YourStanding is a contractor-compliance software service. It helps businesses track licenses, registrations, permits, certifications, insurance records, bonds, vehicle records, related documents, and renewal timing in one place.
The Service may include reminders, document storage, extraction tools, dashboards, and regulatory reference material. Those features are operational aids. They do not guarantee that any filing, renewal, policy, registration, permit, or license is complete, accepted, or legally sufficient.
YourStanding does not provide legal advice, tax advice, licensing advice, or representation before any agency. We do not submit applications or interact with licensing authorities on your behalf unless we clearly say otherwise in a specific service offering.
Account Registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account and keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization or if you believe your workspace data has been exposed through your own systems, credentials, or personnel.
Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for how you use the Service and for the underlying compliance work.
- Keep your account, company, location, and compliance records accurate, current, and complete
- Review reminders, extracted data, and reference content before relying on them for a filing, renewal, submission, or operational decision
- Maintain your own copies of original licenses, applications, certificates, and supporting documents
- Confirm current requirements directly with the relevant authority when it matters
- Obtain any legal, accounting, insurance, or licensing advice you need from your own professional advisors
Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the billing cycle shown at checkout or in the billing portal. By starting a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method until the subscription is canceled.
You can manage or cancel a paid subscription through the billing settings and Stripe billing portal available in the product. Unless a different timing is shown there, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
If payment fails, a subscription is canceled, or an account no longer qualifies for paid access, we may limit paid features or downgrade the workspace to the free-tier limits that apply at that time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
- Upload malicious files or content
- Share account credentials with unauthorized parties
- Interfere with operation of the Service
Data and Content
You retain ownership of the data and documents you upload. You are responsible for having the right to upload them and for making sure they do not violate the law or another party's rights.
You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, transmit, and display your content as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service for your workspace.
We do not sell your personal information. We may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve the Service, measure usage, and support product decisions.
Regulatory Data Disclaimer
Regulatory reference data is provided for informational purposes only. It may change, contain errors, or become outdated. You are responsible for verifying current requirements with the relevant licensing board, agency, municipality, insurer, or other authority before acting.
See our Disclaimer for additional context about the limits of public reference content published by YourStanding.
Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these terms, use the Service in a way that creates security, fraud, abuse, or legal risk, or materially interfere with other users or the platform.
You may stop using the Service at any time. If you close your account or delete your organization, your right to use the affected workspace ends when that deletion is processed.
If you want help retrieving data before an account or workspace is closed, contact support@yourstanding.com before deletion. We may be able to assist with a reasonable support request, but we do not promise self-serve export tools, a particular export format, or ongoing access after termination or deletion.
Disclaimers and Liability Limits
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the Service will prevent every missed deadline, compliance lapse, enforcement issue, or business loss.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YourStanding is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service during the twelve months before the claim arose.
