Oklahoma HVAC/R Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman License

The Oklahoma Construction Industries Board (CIB) issues the HVAC/R Unlimited Mechanical Journeyman license, authorizing the holder to perform mechanical HVAC/R work of any capacity while employed by a licensed mechanical contractor.

What This License Authorizes

HVAC/R Unlimited Journeymen may install, alter, modify, service, maintain, or repair any cooling, heating, refrigeration, process piping, natural gas piping, and sheet metal systems without limitation while working under a licensed Mechanical Contractor. Journeymen may not contract for work independently.

Requirements

Experience: At least 3 years of verifiable experience in the mechanical trade. Completion of an approved education program may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement.
Examination: Must pass the HVAC/R Unlimited Journeyman technical trade exam.

Renewal Process

Renewal Period: Annually, due by the last day of your birth month

Continuing Education: 6 hours every 3 years (36 months) from CIB-approved providers
