New Jersey Master Plumber License


The New Jersey State Board of Master Plumbers regulates plumbing contractors throughout the state. A master plumber license is required to contract for plumbing work and supervise plumbing installations.


Requirements


  • Examination: Must pass the NJ master plumber exam
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of documented plumbing experience
  • Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation insurance required
  • Continuing Education: 20 hours per renewal cycle

Scope of Work


Licensed master plumbers may install, alter, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, waste, and vent piping in residential and commercial buildings.
