New Hampshire High/Medium Voltage Electrician License
The New Hampshire Electricians' Board, under the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC), issues the High/Medium Voltage Electrician license. This specialized license authorizes work on electrical systems operating at voltages above standard building electrical service levels, typically found in utility infrastructure, industrial facilities, and large commercial installations.
What This License Authorizes
High/Medium Voltage Electricians may perform installation, maintenance, and repair work on electrical systems operating at medium and high voltage levels. This includes utility distribution systems, industrial power systems, substations, and similar high-voltage installations.
Examination and Experience Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience working with high and medium voltage electrical systems and pass the High/Medium Voltage Electrician examination administered through the Board.

- Application Fee: $50
- License Issuance Fee: $270 (paid upon approval)
- Renewal Fee: $270 (every 3 years)
- Late Renewal Fee: $50 (after 30-day grace period)

Continuing Education
High/Medium Voltage Electricians must complete 15 hours of continuing education relating to the current National Electrical Code within the 3-year license cycle. At least 1 hour must cover changes to RSA 319-C and administrative rules.

Consequences of Operating Without a License
