New Hampshire Asbestos Abatement Entity License
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES), Air Resources Division, issues the Asbestos Abatement Entity license under RSA 141-E and Env-A 1800. This license authorizes a company to perform major asbestos abatement projects in New Hampshire.
What This License Authorizes
Licensed Asbestos Abatement Entities may perform major asbestos abatement projects including stripping, encapsulating, or enclosing asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in public and private residential, industrial, and commercial buildings, structures, and equipment throughout New Hampshire.
Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate that they employ or contract with certified asbestos abatement workers and supervisors. All workers on asbestos abatement projects must hold individual NHDES certifications. The entity must maintain appropriate insurance coverage.

- Renewal Fee: $750
Processing Time
RSA 541-A allows up to 120 days for application processing. Fees for asbestos notifications and applications increased effective January 1, 2026.
