    Complete the 8 required hours before you start the renewal.

    File with the board

    File through Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (DOPL) — State Plumbing Board and pay the $21.60 renewal fee once the supporting proof is ready.

Idaho Plumbing Journeyman License


The Idaho State Plumbing Board issues journeyman licenses to qualified plumbers who have completed the required training and passed the state examination.


What This License Authorizes


Licensed Plumbing Journeymen may perform plumbing installation, alteration, and repair work under the supervision of or employment by a licensed Plumbing Contractor.


Prerequisites


  • Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience
  • Must pass the Idaho plumbing journeyman examination

  • Application Fee: $22.50
  • License Fee: $147 (3-year license)
  • Renewal Fee: $21.60 per 3-year cycle
  • Late Revival Fee: $50.40 (includes reinstatement penalty of $29.40)

Consequences of Operating Without a License


Performing plumbing work without a valid journeyman license is a misdemeanor in Idaho. Violations may result in fines and work stoppage orders.
