Alabama General Contractor License
The Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors requires licensing for any contractor performing work valued at $50,000 or more. Alabama is one of the few states with a dedicated general contractor licensing board.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of construction experience
- Examination: Must pass the general contractor exam (business and law + trade)
- Financial Statement: CPA-prepared financial statement showing required net worth
- Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation required
