West Virginia Manufactured Home Installation Contractor License
The West Virginia Board of Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety, in conjunction with the WV Contractor Licensing Board, licenses contractors who install manufactured homes. Installation must comply with federal HUD standards (24 CFR Part 3285) or manufacturer instructions.
What This License Authorizes
Manufactured Home Installation Contractors may transport, set up, and install manufactured homes on prepared sites, including foundation work, utility connections, and anchoring systems per HUD or manufacturer specifications.
Requirements
- Must hold a WV Contractor License with the Manufactured Home Installation classification from the Contractor Licensing Board
- Surety Bond: $12,000 contractor license bond required (through CLB license)
- Workers' Compensation: Required if you have employees
- Must additionally apply to the Board of Manufactured Housing for an installation license
- Installations must follow manufacturer instructions, a certified engineer's design, or 24 CFR Part 3285
