South Carolina Fire Sprinkler Contractor License


The South Carolina Contractors Licensing Board (CLB), under the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR), licenses fire sprinkler contractors who install, inspect, and maintain fire sprinkler systems statewide.


Requirements


  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in fire sprinkler system installation
  • Examination: Must pass the Contractors Licensing Board (CLB) fire sprinkler exam
  • NICET Certification: Recommended for sprinkler system design and installation
  • Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation required
  • Application Fee: $200

Continuing Education


  • Hours: 4 hours per renewal cycle
  • Topics: Fire code updates, sprinkler technology, and NFPA standards
