NYC Oil Burning Equipment Installer (Class A)


The Class A Oil Burning Equipment Installer license is issued by the DOB and authorizes the installation, alteration, and repair of oil burning equipment in New York City. This is critical for HVAC contractors working with oil-fired heating systems.


Requirements


  • Experience: Demonstrated experience with oil burning equipment
  • Examination: Must pass the DOB written exam ($1,115 exam fee)
  • Background Check: Background inspection required ($500 fee)
  • Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation insurance
  • Application Fee: $100 license fee
