Maine Limited Wood Pellet Technician License


The Maine Fuel Board, under the Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation, issues Limited Wood Pellet Technician licenses. This license authorizes holders to install, service, and maintain wood pellet heating equipment.


What This License Authorizes


Limited Wood Pellet Technicians may install, service, and maintain wood pellet stoves, boilers, and related pellet-burning heating systems. This is a limited scope license specific to pellet-fuel heating equipment.


Requirements


  • Completed application
  • Complete a criminal background check ($21 fee)
  • Application Fee: $71 (includes $50 license fee + $21 background check)

Renewal Process


  • Renewal Period: Every 2 years from date of first licensure
  • Renewal Fee: $50
  • Late Fee: $50 for renewals up to 90 days after expiration
  • No Continuing Education Required
