Louisiana Roofing Contractor License


The LSLBC licenses roofing contractors for projects valued at $50,000 or more. Louisiana's hurricane-prone geography makes roofing one of the most regulated and in-demand construction trades in the state.


Requirements


  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of roofing experience
  • Examination: Must pass the LSLBC roofing trade exam and business law exam
  • Financial Statement: CPA-prepared financial statement required
  • Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation required
  • Application Fee: ~$340 for a single classification (fees vary by number of classifications)

Continuing Education


No continuing education required for commercial roofing contractors. Residential contractors must complete 6 hours per year.
