Arkansas Master Electrician License
The Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners, operating under the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing, issues the Master Electrician license. This is the highest level of electrical license in the state and authorizes the holder to perform, supervise, and plan all types of electrical work.
What This License Authorizes
Master Electricians may perform and supervise all classes of electrical work in Arkansas, including residential, commercial, and industrial installations. They may also pull permits, supervise journeyman electricians and apprentices, and operate an electrical contracting business.
Application Requirements
- Exam Fee: $100
- Experience: Must hold an active Arkansas Journeyman Electrician license and have at least 1 year (2,000 hours) of experience as a licensed journeyman
- Examination: Must pass the Master Electrician written examination
Continuing Education
Master Electricians must complete 8 hours of continuing education per National Electrical Code (NEC) cycle. CE courses must be approved by the Board of Electrical Examiners and cover current NEC code updates.
