Columbus Ohio General Contractor License
Ohio does NOT require a state-level general contractor license. Instead, contractor licensing is handled at the city and county level. Columbus requires general contractors to register with the Department of Building and Zoning Services.
Important: Ohio's Decentralized Structure
Unlike most states, Ohio has no statewide general contractor license. Each municipality sets its own requirements. This means contractors must obtain separate licenses for each city in which they work.

- Notarized Application: Must be notarized and submitted to BZSLicensing@Columbus.gov
