Illinois Elevator Mechanic License
The Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) licenses elevator mechanics statewide under the Elevator Safety Act and 41 IAC Part 1000.
Requirements
- Experience: Verifiable elevator industry experience
- Examination: Must pass elevator mechanic competency exam
- Application Fee: $250
Continuing Education
- Hours: 8 hours per biennial renewal cycle
- Required Topics: Must include 2 hours of code update instruction
