Denver HVAC Contractor License


The City and County of Denver requires HVAC contractors to hold a valid license issued by the Community Planning and Development (CPD) department. This license covers heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration work within Denver city limits.

  • Experience: Demonstrated HVAC installation and repair experience
  • Examination: Must pass the Denver mechanical contractor exam
  • Insurance: General liability and workers' compensation required
  • EPA Certification: Section 608 certification recommended for refrigerant handling
