Vermont Master Plumber License
The Vermont Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire Safety issues the Master Plumber license through the Plumbers Examining Board. A Master Plumber may supervise plumbing installations, pull permits, and oversee journeyman and specialty plumbers.
Requirements
Applicants must have worked as a licensed Journeyman Plumber for at least two years. All candidates must submit their current journeyman license number, a copy of their journeyman license, and pass the Master Plumber examination (105 multiple-choice questions, 4-hour time limit).

8 hours of continuing education are required every biennial renewal cycle.

Penalties for Unlicensed Work
Performing plumbing work without a valid Vermont license carries fines of up to $500 per offense. Violations of Vermont plumbing standards may result in penalties up to $10,000 and exposure to private lawsuits.
