Vermont Journeyman Plumber License
The Vermont Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire Safety issues the Journeyman Plumber license through the Plumbers Examining Board. A Journeyman Plumber may perform plumbing work under the supervision of a Master Plumber who holds the permit for the job.
Requirements
Applicants must obtain a Certificate of Completion from the Vermont State Apprenticeship Council demonstrating at least 12,000 hours of on-the-job experience, or provide a certified statement of licensure or completed apprenticeship from another state acceptable to the Plumbers Examining Board. All candidates must pass the Journeyman Plumber examination.

Continuing Education
8 hours of continuing education are required every biennial renewal cycle.

Penalties for Unlicensed Work
Performing plumbing work without a valid Vermont license carries fines of up to $500 per offense. Violations of plumbing standards may result in penalties up to $10,000 and private lawsuits by consumers.
