Renew online via the City of Pensacola BTR renewal portal at https://ipn2.paymentus.com/rotp/copb. For assistance or new applications, contact the Business Licenses office at businesslicenses@cityofpensacola.com or (850) 436-5693. Office located at 222 West Main Street, 5th Floor, Pensacola, FL 32502 (mail to P.O. Box 12910, Pensacola, FL 32521-0015).

Annual Business Tax Receipt runs October 1 – September 30. The BTR expires September 30 each year. Renew on or before September 30 to avoid delinquency penalties. Delinquency penalties begin October 1 per FL Statute 205.053 — confirm the current delinquency schedule with the Business Licenses office at (850) 436-5693.

FL Statute 205.053(3) imposes an additional statewide civil penalty if the business tax remains unpaid 150 days after initial notice of tax due — this is self-executing and does not require the City of Pensacola to expressly invoke it in local ordinance. Contact the Business Licenses office at (850) 436-5693 for the current penalty amount.

YourStanding must not calculate the BTR fee — fees are set by City Ordinance Chapter 7-2, Section 7-2-9 and vary by business type and employee count; contact the Business Licenses office at businesslicenses@cityofpensacola.com or (850) 436-5693 to confirm the current applicable fee.

At application, contractors must provide their State Certification Number and their Escambia County Local Business Tax Account Number (required on the City's application form). New applicants: the city's business tax collector will contact you via email after submission to complete the process and collect payment.

A separate Escambia County Business Tax Receipt is required from the Tax Collector of Escambia County (https://escambiataxcollector.com/business-tax-receipts/). Renew the county BTR online at https://escambia.county-taxes.com/btexpress or by mail/in-person. Both city and county BTRs follow the October 1 – September 30 fiscal year. Contact the Tax Collector of Escambia County at (850) 438-6500 or escambiataxcollector.com for current county fee amounts.

State-certified contractors who have already paid a Local Business Tax Receipt to their home Florida county may be exempt from the Escambia County BTR under FL Statute 205.065 — confirm eligibility with the Tax Collector of Escambia County at (850) 438-6500 or ectc@EscambiaTaxCollector.com before relying on this exemption.
