There is no online payment portal — Local Business Tax payments must be made by mail or in person at 101 Old Main Street, Bradenton, FL 34205. Checks payable to the City of Bradenton.
Renewal notices are mailed by the City Clerk's Local Business Tax desk; payment must be received no later than September 30 to avoid Florida Statute 205.053 late penalties — fees escalate monthly beginning October 1.
No companion Manatee County BTR is required — unincorporated Manatee County does not levy a Local Business Tax. State-mandated contractor licensing (Florida Statute Chapter 489) is administered separately by the Manatee County Building Division and is independent of the city BTR.
Contractors must register separately with the City of Bradenton Building & Permitting Division (permitting@bradentonfl.gov, 941-932-9414) using the Contractor Registration form, providing current state license, general liability, and workers' compensation (or exemption); Registered Contractors and City Contractors pay a separate two-year registration fee; Certified Contractors (state-licensed DBPR) pay no registration fee. The Local Business Tax is owed by these contractors only if their physical business location is inside city limits.
Merchant businesses must submit a notarized Merchant Inventory Value Affidavit with the application — the fee is based on inventory value.
For initial setup, classification, fee questions, multi-receipt determinations, or military-family exemptions (Florida Statute 205.055), contact the Local Business Tax desk at 941-932-9425 or 941-714-7105.
YourStanding must not calculate the BTR fee — fees are set by city ordinance per classification and confirmed by the Local Business Tax desk.
