How these figures are made
Every figure is counted from the License Master file the Contractors State License Board publishes, current as of Sep 25, 2026. The file lists licenses that are current or expired but still renewable; CSLB leaves out cancelled, revoked, and non-renewable licenses.
Suspended is any primary status CSLB marks as a suspension. Clear is a CLEAR status with an expiration date that has not passed. Everything else is other status.
A license holding more than one class or certification counts once under each, so the class table sums to more than the total. Licenses with an out-of-state address have no county and are left out of the county table. Counties and classes with fewer than 50 licenses are left out of the tables.
